Details

A quilt is the layer between a sheet and a duvet, enough for a warm night, and something to fold across the foot of the bed the rest of the year. This one is quilted in straight lines rather than medallions, which keeps it quiet in a room that already has enough going on.

  • 100 % cotton face and back
  • Straight-line quilting, no swirls
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified

Materials + Care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Wash separately for the first few cycles: deep and saturated colours release a little dye at first. Do not bleach, do not dry clean.

Textured weaves such as seersucker, waffle and gauze are meant to look relaxed: they need no ironing, and they soften with every wash.

Shipping + Returns

Free shipping on orders over $99. Orders leave our warehouse within 1–2 business days, Monday to Friday. You'll get a tracking number as soon as it ships.

Free returns for 60 days. Sleep on it, literally. If it isn't right, start a return from your account and we'll send you a prepaid label. Items should come back in a re-sellable condition.

Wrong size? We'll exchange it, and we cover the shipping both ways.

The fabric

Quilted cotton

Two layers and a filling, held together by the stitching that gives it its face.

Cotton, and why the staple matters

Cotton, and why the staple matters

Face, back and filling are all cotton. A polyester filling is cheaper and warmer for its weight, but it does not breathe, and a quilt that does not breathe is a quilt you push off at two in the morning.

The stitching is the design

The quilting line does two jobs: it stops the filling shifting, and it draws the cloth in so the surface gathers between the lines. That gathering is where the texture comes from.

Wash it whole, dry it slowly

Use a large machine so the quilt can move, and dry on low with plenty of room. A cramped dryer is what makes the filling bunch.

Questions about this fabric

Is a quilt warm enough on its own?

For summer and for a mild room, yes. In winter it works as a layer over a duvet.

Will the filling move?

Not if the quilting lines are close enough, which is what you are paying for. Dry it with space and it stays even.

Can it go on the bed all year?

That is what it is for. Spread in summer, folded across the foot the rest of the year.
